Wishy Washy Washer Woman ... song

...
class book reproduction of Mrs. Wishy-Washy ...kinderkorner
On several pages, I've needed to cut off Mrs. Wishy-washy's arms and reposition them to make the illustrations look more like the ones in the Cowley book. It's been fun to see the kids' reactions to this "rearranging" of their creations :o)

individual reproductions of Mrs. Wishy-Washy:
template is "Mrs. Wishy Washy cut-and-glue" from Making Learning Fun...
..........NOTE: Making Learning Fun has lots more Mrs. Wishy-Washy printables
.
...print the pages the size you want on index paper, or glue the templates onto a file folder to make the book covers sturdier.
.
...FOR THE PAGES: Cut copy paper into the shape of Mrs. Wishy-Washy's body and staple between the book covers; add as many pages as you want for students to retell the story; add more blank pages at the back for students to extend the story (what happens next?) or write a personal response to the story.
.
...FOR WRITING: have students write their sentences independently, or cut the sentences into words - have the students sequence the words to make the sentences - then copy the sentences into their books.

...The "mud" is really mud, painted on the appropriate pages.
...Put some dirt in a cup and add a little water to make mud. Using a large paintbrush, scrape off excess mud on the side of the cup (or paint on a piece of scrap paper first to take off the excess mud), then paint the mud on the paper (with an almost dry brush). It's easier to do this before you put the book together; that way the mud won't get on other pages.
