Goldilocks and the 3 James Marshall

Goldilocks and the Three Bears YouTube ... Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes

Goldilocks and the Three Martians(Stu Smith) ...In a porridge-powered rocket ship, Goldilocks sets out to find a planet "where everything's just right" and has a close encounter with a Martian family.

Leola and the Honeybears--An African-American Retelling ...(Melodye Benson Rosales)
Somebody and the Three Blairs ...(Marilyn Tolhurst)
"Somebody" is a bear who rampages through the Blair family's house while they are out. "Somebody" raids the pantry, slightly twisting the usual rejections of the food: "too dry, too noisy, just right." The hand-held shower is too hot, the toilet is a pond that is too small, but the stream of water at the sink is just right. "Somebody" devastates the house far worse than Goldilocks ever did, and falls asleep in Baby Blair's crib. He escapes down the drainpipe when the Blairs return, but Baby Blair invites him back to play.
Beware of the Bears! ...(Alan MacDonald)
The three bears are furious. Their house has been completely wrecked, and there is only one suspect! Baby Bear sets out after Goldilocks to discover where she lives, and very soon Mommy and Daddy Bear are there, too. "What are we waiting for?" says Mommy Bear. "Let's see how she likes uninvited guests!" The three bears have a wonderful time, they throw cereal around, they tango on the table and they cause havoc in the bathroom.

But when Goldilocks returns to the cottage, the three bears find they have made a terrible mistake!

Goldilocks and Just One Bear ... (Leigh Hodgkinson)
Goldilocks and Just One Bear - book cover.jpg ... for more with this book, click here
In this award-winning author illustrator’s witty sequel to the traditional Goldilocks story, Little Bear is all grown up and Goldilocks is a distant memory. One day, Little Bear wanders out of the woods and finds himself lost in the Big City. Will he find the city too noisy? Too quiet? Or just right? And what are the chances of him bumping in to someone who remembers exactly how he likes his porridge? (Amazon review)
With lots of wordplay and wry, lively pictures, this fractured fairy tale is also a hilarious sequel to the Goldilocks story. Of course, the parody is for older readers, but even young preschoolers will get some of the twists and turns on the story they know, and they will love the mayhem caused by a big, klutzy creature. A bear gets lost in the city, and, disoriented by the bright lights and terrible racket, he takes shelter in an apartment in Snooty Towers. No one is home. He tries the food: too soggy, too crunchy. He wants porridge, but he settles for a toast sandwich. When he tries to rest, he ends up sitting on the cat and then bursting the beanbag chair. Then the family returns and finds the mess. The little one screams, “Somebody has been eating my toast and they’ve eaten it all up!” The bear thinks the mommy person looks familiar. It turns out it’s Goldilocks, living happily ever after. The playful, mixed-media art in colored pencil, paint, and collage extends the wordplay fun with the scenes of the bear lost in the crowded streets and passing by the Ugly Sister Beauty Parlor, Coffee Beanstalk, and Little Piggy Bank. Great for sharing. (Booklist review)

Goldilocks and the three dinosaurs -- book cover.png
Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs is a new take on the fairy-tale classic Goldilocks and the Three Bears, so funny and so original—it could only come from the brilliant mind of Mo Willems.
Once upon a time, there were three hungry Dinosaurs: Papa Dinosaur, Mama Dinosaur . . . and a Dinosaur who happened to be visiting from Norway.
One day—for no particular reason—they decided to tidy up their house, make the beds, and prepare pudding of varying temperatures. And then—for no particular reason—they decided to go . . . someplace else. They were definitely not setting a trap for some succulent, unsupervised little girl.
Definitely not! (review from Amazon)

Goatilocks gobbles more than porridge in this fractured fairy tale that puts a hilarious twist on a favorite story.

Once upon a time, there was a kid named Goatilocks. She lived down the road from a family of bears...
Goatilocks can’t resist sampling first Papa Bear’s porridge, then Mama Bear’s porridge, then Baby Bear’s porridge—and his bowl and spoon, too. And it turns out Goatilocks has a taste for chairs and beds as well. Has Goatilocks devoured her way to disaster? What will happen when the Bear family returns home from their walk? The Three Snow Bears ... (Jan Brett) ... click here for more with this book
The Goldilocks story takes a fine twist when an endearing snow bear family and a curious Inuit girl meet center stage in Jan Brett's stunning paintings of a land where the Inuits and the animals share the amazing Arctic landscape.
When Aloo-ki loses her sled dogs, her search for them leads her to an igloo. She can't resist peeking inside...and then she can't resist the smell of something delicious...
While Aloo-ki is making herself at home, Papa, Mama and Baby Bear are out walking, waiting for their breakfast to cool off...and who do you think they find?
In the borders, playful Arctic animals in parkas inspired by original Inuit designs have a mischievous time as the lively story bounces back and forth between the snow bears and Aloo-ki until they come face-to-face.
Goldie Socks and the Three Libearians ... by Jackie Hopkins
This is the story of a little girl who enters the home of a book loving family consisting of Papa Bear who is a public librarian, Mama Bear who is a school librarian, and Baby Bear who is a librarian in training at the Grizz Lee Preschool. Goldi Socks takes advantage of the Bear family's absence to explore the home and becomes so engaged with the books she finds there that she doesn't hear the family's return. Adding to the delightfully entertaining twist to an old and favorite story, is a thoroughly happy ending!

Goldilocks Returns ...
An enjoyable sequel to the classic tale.
Now middle-aged, Goldi has opened a locksmith shop "to help people protect themselves against snoops" and alleviate her guilt over what she did to the Bear family years ago. Still haunted by her past, she decides to visit the Bears to make amends. She finds them living exactly as before, even though Baby Bear is also now middle-aged. Goldi arrives just after the Bears have left for their morning walk and begins by installing locks on their doors (to deter intruders like herself). She then goes on to adjust the upholstery in the chairs and the beds, redecorate, and replace the Bears' unhealthy porridge with celery juice and fat-free rutabaga bars. When the Bears come home, they are more upset than ever, until the next morning when they leave for their walk and spy a young blond girl approaching their home. In the hope that she will undo Goldi's efforts, they continue merrily on their way.
Children will appreciate Goldi's attempts at repair, especially her "improvement" of the Bears' food. All in all, a solid addition to the world of fractured fairy tales. (School Library Journal)
Let's Go Camping with Mr. Sillypants ... by M.K.Brown
let's go camping with mr. sillypants.jpg
Kids who giggled their way through Let's Go Swimming with Mr. Sillypants will hail the return of this bespectacled, befuddled hero. On the morning of the eponymous excursion, Mr. Sillypants oversleeps. His fellow campers have already departed, and Mr. Sillypants gets lost as he attempts to trace their footsteps through the woods. He tells himself not to panic, but to eat ("I always feel better after a sandwich and a pickle and a cookie and some hot chocolate"). The amiable fellow then takes a nap (and has a dream) and, in a diverting, wordless tale-within-a-tale, he discovers "a charming cottage," wherein he sees three sandwiches, three toothbrushes and three beds, all of varying sizes. In his dream he awakens from a brief snooze to the glares of the house's three furry residents whom delighted youngsters will easily recognize. The Three Bears chase him up a tree and while he is in the tree, he discovers the solution to his problem. When Mr. Sillypants wakes up for real, he, happily, finds the other campers. (book review from Publishers Weekly & School Library Journal)
